Perisai Makmur Sdn. Bhd. manufactures and supplies expansion joints in Malaysia for bridges, highways, flyovers and multi-storey car parks. From our factory in Shah Alam, Selangor, we have produced hot-poured bridge joint compound and joint sealants since 1990, supplying contractors across Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

Every expansion joint we supply is designed for Malaysia’s climate: daily temperature swings, heavy monsoon rainfall and constant UV exposure. Our compounds stay flexible through years of thermal movement and traffic loading without cracking, debonding or letting water reach the structure beneath.

What Is a Bridge Expansion Joint?

A bridge expansion joint is the gap built into a bridge deck that allows the structure to expand in the heat and contract when it cools. Without it, thermal movement and traffic vibration would crack the deck, damage bearings and let rainwater into the reinforcement below.

The joint is filled with a flexible compound that moves with the structure while keeping the gap sealed. In Malaysia, where road surface temperatures can exceed 60°C by afternoon and drop sharply during evening rain, a properly specified expansion joint is what keeps a bridge watertight and safe for decades.
